Chelsey Freeman Williams

Program Director

Chelsey Freeman Williams is the Program Director at Lead for Liberation, where she supports organizations and individuals to fully live and embrace liberation as a state of mind and being.


Chelsey is a Talent & DEI Specialist, with over ten years of experience merging her passion for people, coaching, systems change, and liberation. She actively brings her awareness and love of adult learners into every space she enters as a trained adult learning facilitator and designer. From her experience as the Director of Learning and Development for Teach For America's National Human Assets team, she has specialized training in applying research-based Adult Learning Theory to both virtual and in-person professional learning experiences.


Chelsey's experience in recruitment, selection, DEI, and facilitation spans multiple organizations and executives. With a Master's in Industrial Organizational Psychology, she is skilled in the full continuum of human resources, with a particular added lens toward liberation. Her value of learning continuously propelled her to obtain her DEI & HR certification from Cornell University.


Chelsey at her core is an educator, having previously worked for multiple school districts where she designed and created resources to support equitable hiring, and facilitated sessions to strengthen individual DEI acumen, overall recruitment & hiring processes, and more equitable HR practices across the country. She is a former teacher and district leader; these experiences have been pivotal in shaping her passion and career focus. Chelsey's most recent experience before joining Lead for Liberation was in the technology industry where she continued to share her knowledge and experiences in the big tech world as a DEI Senior Program Manager.

Chelsey resides in Houston as a proud mom of two with her life partner, Jeremy. Chelsey is a lover of learning, growth, truth, and authenticity. She is living on purpose and found a team that supports her to combine her personal and professional passion for pursuing liberation while creating more equitable organizations and systems that support the entire humanity of their people to thrive and belong.
